U of A RTIP Student Wins AHP Award

Bridget Grobosky is one of the many student employees from the Race Track Industry Program working at Rillito Park Racetrack. She is involved with designing the programs and creating press releases to highlight events at the track. Recently she has been recognized for her strong work by the American Horse Publication along with two other qualified individuals.

Bridget is one of three finalist chosen from a pool of 20 highly dedicated and impressive students. She has earned an opportunity to meet leading equine publishing professionals and discuss career possibilities during the AHP annual seminar. All of AHP Travel Award Winners will receive $750 travel awards to attend the 2015 Tally-Ho at the Alamo Seminar in San Antonio, Texas for three days of educational sessions and related activities.

“Bridget Grobosky is a junior at the University of Arizona, where she majors in Animal Science-Equine Industry path and minors in Journalism. Bridget has been involved in the equine industry since she was seven years old through riding, showing and owning horses. Her career culminated in two 2013 Pinto World Championship top 10 finishes. She is currently President of the University of Arizona’s Intercollegiate Horse Show Association equestrian team.

“After completing an intensive summer journalism minor program, I rekindled my love for writing and communications,” says Bridget. She is currently working for the Rillito Race Track in Tucson, writing local and national press releases. Her career goal is to work for a publishing company within the equine industry. As her experience broadens, she is also considering other communications fields such as public relations.
