PUBLIC www.rillitoracetrack.com INFO: (520) RILLITO (745-5486) On Saturday, May 4, 2019 Rillito Race Track will host a Kentucky Derby Watch and Wager Party. Described as “the most exciting two minutes in sports” the Kentucky Derby is the first leg of the Triple Crown. Gates open at 8AM with festivities beginning at 11:00am. A southern style buffet will be available for purchase and guests can enjoy Mint Juleps and Bloody Marys. The 5th Annual Hat Contest and the 4th Annual Necktie Contest include 3 categories for Tie (conventional ties, bow ties, and bola ties) Western/Horse Tie; Vintage/Historic Tie; Flamboyant Tie and 4 categories for the Hats: Children under 12 years old, all styles; Western Theme Hat; Outrageous/Over-the-Top Hat; and Traditional Style Hat. Post time is at 3:40pm for the “Run for the Roses”. Racing parties continue on Saturday, May 18, 2019 with the Preakness Stakes and Saturday, June 8, 2019 presenting the Belmont Stakes.

Rillito Racing Inc. has an agreement with Pima County to operate the track under the auspices of Rillito Park Foundation through 2021. The park is on the National Register of Historic Places. The facility is the site of horse racing, the Jelk’s Farm Stud House, the largest farmer’s market in southern Arizona, soccer fields, special events and festivals and is in the Pima County Park system.
